YouLicense.Com Offers Commission-Free Music Licensing to Artists & Labels
Posted on: Thursday, 2 October 2008, 12:05 CDT
NEW YORK, October 2 /PRNewswire/ -- YouLicense.com (http://www.youlicense.com/), the global online music licensing platform, announced today the launch of new premium services that offer commission-free music licensing for artists, labels, publishers and content distributors. The new premium services waive commissions for artists and labels on music licensing deals made on the site, without any restrictions on pricing or the number of deals they secure.
"YouLicense.com is waiving commissions to give content owners greater freedom to garner as many licensing deals as they can," said YouLicense.com CEO Maor Ezer. "It's an unrestricted, 'all-you-can-eat model' that serves the best interests of both independent artists and larger content aggregators alike and whoever they do business with."
YouLicense.com is still free to join and any user signing up will receive their own storefront with their music and profile. The free account charges no fees and collects commissions only for completed deals between buyer and seller. The new premium services include a Pro Musician account for independent artists, which includes unlimited uploads, 0% commissions, unlimited storage and album profiles; and a Business Account designed for record labels which allows for an unlimited number of artist profiles, storefronts and songs from their catalogs.
New Licensing Storefronts and User Profile Functionality
In addition to waiving commissions, the service has bolstered its licensing storefront and user profile features. The unique storefront allows artists, bands and record labels to create their own customized and trustworthy digital storefront to help facilitate licensing deals. The YouLicense.com storefronts come with a personal URL ( http://www.youlicense.com/artist/johnsmith) and let musicians post their catalogs, album details, licensing history and news updates. The user profile feature lets fans and licensees post their favorite songs, create playlists and add company information. Both features are RSS-enabled.
"A dedicated online licensing store is a valuable asset to artists and labels who can use it as a marketing tool to garner more exposure and sales. Having the right tools to market, distribute and sell music tracks directly to buyers for film, television, advertising and games can make a huge difference in the exposure and potential success of an indie artist today," said Ezer.
