Film Students Land Real Experience
Graduates and undergraduates from Staffordshire University are working on a professional film production.
They have teamed up with Ipso Facto Films and Dreamfinder Productions on a feature film, Souled Out.
Thirty-five trainees have been involved in the production, enabling them to put the skills and knowledge they have learnt from their courses into practice.
Following the wrap of the film, all trainees will be invited to attend an “exit panel” at which they will have the chance to give feedback and meet experts from various agencies.
Souled Out is a coming-of-age film set in the Northern Soul scene of the Seventies. It is set to be released next autumn.
Peter Rudge, associate producer and enterprise reader in film technology at Staffordshire University, said: “The university has shown a real entrepreneurial vision in creating what could be a new business model for low budget feature film production in the UK.”
