Doc’s ‘Dramatic’ Exit From Holby

Today, Tom Chambers starts his last week of filming on the hit hospital drama Holby City.

The Derbyshire actor has confirmed he is leaving the BBC show in which he has played registrar Sam Strachan for the past three years.

Tom will film his “dramatic” final scenes but is remaining tight- lipped about the circumstances in which he makes his exit.

He said: “It is my last week at work this week.

“The fact that I am leaving Holby meant that I could take part in Strictly. If I was still on the show, then the schedules would have clashed completely.”

Tom said he was in talks about the possibility of appearing in the West End.

He added: “I have never performed in a play in the West End, so that would be fantastic.”
