Give Your Vote to Girl Band
FRIENDS of girl band Bad Lashes are urging people of the North East to get behind their bid for stardom.
Jesmond cafe boss Emily McNamee, 19, Durham duo Stacey Lacey Lincoln, 20, Sam Bennett, 21, and Hartlepool’s Sophie Wilson, 23, have made the shortlist on reality TV talent contest X Factor.
Their family and friends were glued to the show over the weekend to see if their rendition of Oasis song Wonderwall impressed Louis enough to be in the running for a pounds 1m recording contract.
Emily’s mother, Christine, who works in a cosmetic surgery centre in Jesmond, Newcastle, said: “It is fantastic that the girls are putting North East talent on the map.
“We hope the region will get behind them and help them in the final stages when the public get their chance to vote.”
Emily, a former Durham High School pupil, recruited childhood friends Stacey, from Neville’s Cross, and Sam, from Sherburn Village, both Durham, for Bad Lashes.
They knew wedding singer Sophie, who lives in Seaton Carew, Hartlepool, through theatre school and asked her to make up the foursome.
