Redlands Chamber LIVE Airing in November
REDLANDS – For 18 years Redlands Chamber LIVE has hit the air waves on Time Warner Cable TV Channel 3 showcasing chamber members and local businesses featuring products and services to thousands of cable TV subscribers. This year’s show presented by Time Warner Cable, Redlands Daily Facts and the Redlands Chamber of Commerce is scheduled for Friday, Nov. 21 and Saturday, Nov. 22.
The chamber increased the viewing capabilities this year by adding live streaming video. Those who don’t have cable TV can now log onto RedlandschamberLIVE.com and watch the show in real time.
With 45 business sponsors each segment on the air, more than 350 items are auctioned off during the 11-hour show and more than 100 people help behind the scenes and in front of the camera.
Businesses participate by donating products or services to be auctioned off during the show. The on-air celebrities promote the businesses and the items up for bid. Home shoppers call in their bids. Eight new products are on the block every 15 minutes.
“This project meets our mission in every way,” said Chamber Executive Director, Kathie Thurston. “Our function as an organization is to promote our members, to advocate on their behalf and to partner with them in success. There is no better opportunity for us to achieve those goals than through Redlands Chamber LIVE”.
Chamber General Manager Jan Nowlin said the volume of calls logged during show time has increased year after year with more than 3000 calls recorded last year.
“We have participated every year in the event since its introduction and I believe everybody wins,” said Kevin Barrett, owner, Kevin Barrett Construction.
“I contribute to a number of programs throughout the year and I see the benefit of doing so. Every business should. Redlands Chamber LIVE helps support the chamber, the consumer gets terrific bargains by participating in the TV auction, and my business gets great exposure.”
Presented by Time Warner Cable, the Redlands Daily Facts and the Redlands Chamber of Commerce, Nowlin said Redlands Chamber LIVE will once again “hit a home run” for businesses and shoppers alike.
“This is the best and cheapest bargain in town when it comes to advertising our businesses to hundreds of customers,” Nowlin said, “There is still time to be a part of the show”.
