Hands Up for Music Through Decades

MORE than 40 children are to take audiences on a trip through a century of music in a show.

Starset theatre group will perform The Decades concert in Durham Gilesgate Sports College next week.

The production will showcase tunes from 1900s music hall, through Gershwin, rock and roll and the Sixties, to the Spice Girls and Robbie Williams.

Singing, drama and dance will be involved.

The youngsters, aged five to 18, have been in rehearsal for 16 weeks.

Show director Elissa Hudson said: ?It?s been a really great variety of experiences for the students and hopefully it will be an entertaining show for the audience.

?For some of them, it?s their first time on stage, so they?re looking forward to it. They?ve worked really hard and it?s been a big challenge. ? There will performances on Saturday, October 18, at 3pm and 7pm. Tickets are [pounds]6.
