Pupils Made More Visible
Children from some of the area’s primary and secondary schools performed their own plays in front of friends and family.
The two productions at the egg theatre were part of Bath Festivals’ Write Team project, which saw professionals working with youngsters.
Children from Oldfield Park Junior, Widcombe Junior, Chandag Junior and Saltford Primary schools came together for their adaptations of the Selkie Story, which was their own interpretation of a folk tale from the Scottish islands.
Year 8 and 9 pupils from Hayesfield, Ralph Allen, Broadlands and Wellsway schools performed their work, Boy Meets Girl, which was a take on the classic love story Romeo and Juliet.
The project focuses on so-called ‘invisible children’, quieter pupils who can be forgotten in the classroom.
