Regal Entertainment Group Announces Grand Opening Details for Deer Park Stadium 16 & IMAX(R)
Posted on: Wednesday, 15 October 2008, 18:00 CDT
Regal Entertainment Group (NYSE: RGC), a leading motion picture exhibitor owning and operating the largest theatre circuit in the United States, today announced grand opening details for the new Regal Cinemas on Long Island. To celebrate, Deer Park Stadium 16 & IMAX(R) will host a preview event with proceeds benefiting a local charity. The cinema's official grand opening will be Friday, October 24 with first-run features including High School Musical 3: Senior Year and Eagle Eye: The IMAX Experience(R). Moviegoers will enjoy free popcorn and free soft drinks with each paid admission October 24 through October 30.
"Our new Regal Cinemas in Deer Park is truly an entertainment destination, complete with the impressive IMAX Experience," stated Dick Westerling, Regal Entertainment Group Senior Vice President of Marketing and Advertising. "This state-of-the-art theatre is the entertainment anchor of the new Tanger Outlet Center at The Arches. The new Regal Cinemas, combined with the myriad of shopping options at the center, will certainly draw patrons from all across Long Island."
Regal Deer Park Stadium 16 will feature a new IMAX theatre. Utilizing the IMAX digital projection system, the theatre will showcase Hollywood blockbusters that have been digitally re-mastered into the unique image and sound quality of The IMAX Experience on a specially-designed screen that is slightly curved and moved forward to further immerse the audience. The IMAX theatre will also offer IMAX 3D. When filmmakers choose to integrate IMAX 3D into their movies, images leap off of the screen and into the laps of the audience, further enhancing the feeling of being IN the movie.
Deer Park Stadium 16 will showcase Real D 3D presentations such as Disney's Bolt opening November 21. The modern movie theatre with 16 screens covers approximately 67,000 square feet and includes more than 2,900 seats. Moviegoers will enjoy stadium seating, with each row elevated for an unobstructed view, and high-back rocking chairs featuring cupholder armrests which move out of the way to form seats for two.
Everyone is invited to enjoy this new entertainment destination on Thursday, October 23 for a preview event featuring $2 movies, $2 popcorn and $2 soft drinks with proceeds benefiting local charities. Details are available at: www.REGmovies.com/grand-openings
