October 25, 2008
New York’s Tiny Dancer Films production company says it has optioned author Daniel Pinkwater’s fantasy novel “Lizard Music” for the big screen.
The movie version of the Random House novel will be produced by Jawal Nga, who is also earning producer credits on the films “Last Chance Harvey” and “Married Life,” The Hollywood Reporter said Friday.
Nga is also working on an adaptation of the poem “Howl” and is collaborating with writer Justin Haythe on the movie “Charlie Johnson in the Flames.”
“Music” was first released in 1974 and is now one of Pinkwater’s more than 100 published literary works.
The Reporter said the novel tells the tale of a boy named Victor who goes on a journey to find a group of lizard musicians he sees on television.
