LOS ANGELES, Oct. 27 /PRNewswire/ -- NDM Bollywood Dance Studios & Productions announced today that tickets for its highly anticipated production of Nakul Dev Mahajan, The One Man Bollywood Show will go on sale November 1, on Ticketmaster.com and by calling (213) 365-3500. Nakul's historical performance is scheduled for Saturday, January 31, at 7:00 p.m. at the Wadsworth Theatre in West Los Angeles, with partial proceeds to benefit Pratham, an India-based non-profit organization that fights illiteracy by building schools in India.
"I am honored to introduce Bollywood dancing to audiences that are not familiar with this popular dance style that has been keeping South Asian audiences -- both in India and abroad -- transfixed with Indian cinema," stated Nakul Dev Mahajan, internationally-recognized choreographer best known for his work on So You Think You Can Dance. "Traditionally, Bollywood dancing brings together hundreds of dancers. The One Man Bollywood Show will be a historical first by fusing traditional Bollywood dancing and western styles with a single dancer -- me!"
NDM Bollywood Dance Productions is making history by producing the first One Man Show in Bollywood dance history. Hollywood's favorite Bollywood choreographer and award-winning dancer Nakul Dev Mahajan will inspire audiences to follow their dreams as they journey with him through critical moments in his life that shaped his dancing career. Sonia Singh, best known for writing critically acclaimed novels Bollywood Confidential and Goddess for Hire, wrote the script for The One Man Bollywood Show.
"As an Indian American and a writer, I am thrilled to be a part of this very special one-man Bollywood show," added Sonia Singh. "I think of this show as a retelling of the classic immigrant success story but this time no stethoscopes are required. The hero is a dancer not a doctor and his pursuit of the American dream is set to a pulse-pounding Bollywood soundtrack. In my book it doesn't get better than that!"
The show combines high-energy dance routines and modern Bollywood music fused with Indian classical, Indian folk, and featuring traditional Indian costumes created by Mehr Design Studio and styling by Ziba Beauty. The evening will also feature a pre-show cocktail reception and post-performance Chai and Sweets gathering catered by Chakra Indian Cuisine of Beverly Hills, and beautifully staged by Kumba Entertainment at the Wadsworth Theatre lawn.
Show tickets are available on Ticketmaster.com or the Wadsworth Theater Box Office for $75, $55, and $35. VIP show tickets, which include entry to pre- and post-show receptions, are available by contacting NDM Bollywood Dance Studios at (562) 402-7761.
