NEW YORK, Nov. 11 /PRNewswire/ -- Sony Pictures Television president Steve Mosko made several announcements today about the company's participation at the 2009 Consumer Electronics Show in Las Vegas. Confirming that the studio will shoot ten Tournament of Champions episodes of Jeopardy! from a set adjacent to the Sony booth on the CES floor, Mosko also revealed that an additional episode will be taped, an installment of Celebrity Jeopardy! featuring Elizabeth Perkins and Tom Bergeron. The 18,000 square foot set will accommodate 600 audience members and feature a customized set with the game board featuring Sony's latest high definition, low energy consumption 42"LCD displays (model FWD-S42H1). The shows, shot in high definition, will air in March 2009.

Additionally, Sony Pictures Television will demo its new multiplayer mobile game, Jeopardy! Live. The new game, which launches in January, allows users to play along live via cell phone with Jeopardy! contestants while the show airs on broadcast television. Extending the show's amazing brand, Jeopardy! Live will also give players at home or on the go the chance to create communities where they can play against each other. CES attendees are invited to play along at demonstrations in the Sony booth.
Additionally, Mosko announced that world-renowned heart surgeon, author and talk show host Dr. Mehmet Oz, will participate in Sony events at the show. Dr. Oz's new talk show, produced by Sony Pictures Television and Harpo Productions, premieres in September 2009.
"We're looking forward to another great experience at CES, where Sony, as a leader in both content and devices, can demonstrate the diversity and power of entertainment like no one else," said Mosko. "Jeopardy! is an excellent example of Sony at its best ... an iconic entertainment brand that is embracing all that new technology can offer and reaching new audiences across every available platform."
