'Loveable Queen of Mean' Lisa Lampanelli Joins the Ranks of Comedy Stars to Tape National Television Specials From Santa Rosa

SANTA ROSA, Calif., Nov. 13 /PRNewswire/ -- Dubbed by The New York Times as the "Loveable Queen of Mean," Lisa Lampanelli has captured the hearts of fans with her no-holds-barred, insult comedy style. Her ability to make people laugh at their own stereotypes and differences helped her conquer the club scenes, finds her making the rise at theaters across the country, and has led to her first-ever HBO special scheduled for taping November 21 at Santa Rosa's Wells Fargo Center for the Arts.

The taping, which will occur at two standup concerts on November 21 (7pm and 10pm), represents the fourth national television special hosted by Wells Fargo Center for the Arts, which is quickly solidifying its reputation as the "best comedy house in the country." Previous television specials presented from the Santa Rosa arts center include: Kathy Griffin's "Everybody Can Suck It" on the Bravo network in 2007, George Carlin's "It's Bad For Ya" Emmy nominated HBO special and Dana Carvey's HBO special "Squatting Monkeys Tell No Lies," both in March 2008.

Lampanelli is widely recognized for wickedly sharp appearances on the Comedy Central roasts of such talent as Pamela Anderson, Chevy Chase, and Flava Flav. In addition to touring nationally and taping her first HBO special, Lisa also recently signed a pilot deal with HBO for her own sitcom with Jim Carrey as executive producer. Her career on the fast track, Lampanelli is garnering coverage in The New York Times (who said she "talks like a truck driver but resembles a '50s housewife ... "), San Francisco Chronicle, and many outlets across the country. This Monday, television viewers can look for a Lampanelli appearance on The Tonight Show with Jay Leno to promote her upcoming HBO special in Santa Rosa.
