Novelist and Chicago Sun-Times columnist the Rev. Andrew Greeley is on the mend after a fall fractured his skull more than two weeks ago, the newspaper said.

His family was elated, Greeley spokeswoman June Rosner told the Sun-Times regarding the author’s improving condition. They know he’s been responding well (to treatment.)

Greeley, an 80-year-old Roman Catholic priest and scholar, was injured Nov. 7 as he got out of a taxi in Rosemont, Ill. At the time, the Illinois native was hospitalized in critical condition at Advocate Lutheran General Hospital in Park Ridge. He was listed in fair condition Monday, the Sun-Times said.
