October Films makes Le Clezio documentary
The U.K. production company October Films says it has been commissioned to produce a documentary about French author Jean-Marie Gustave Le Clezio.
The 90-minute film marks the company’s first commission from Nobel Media AB, which is responsible for producing the official Nobel TV programs.
Le Clezio, who is the 2008 Nobel Laureate in Literature, has published more than 30 books, including volumes of short stories, novels, essays, prefaces and reviews. He is also the author of several children’s books.
Using interviews with Le Clezio and his academic peers, the program addresses the various themes his work explores and offers insight into the views of his literary world and the significance of his writings, October Films said in a release.
The documentary is to be distributed internationally.
October Films is delighted to receive its first commission from Noble Media and we are looking forward to developing and building this relationship further, Denman Rooke, managing director for October Films, said in a statement.
Camilla Hylten-Cavallius, chief executive officer of Nobel Media, added:
By working with October Films and their production of high-quality documentaries, this commission for the Nobel Literature Documentary will capture the interest of a global audience.
