Borgata Announces Details of Fourth Annual Winter Poker Open

Championship Event To Offer $2 Million Guaranteed Prize Pool

ATLANTIC CITY, N.J., Dec. 2 /PRNewswire/ -- Borgata Hotel Casino & Spa today announced details of its fourth annual Borgata Winter Poker Open. The 17-day tournament starts January 13, 2009, and will culminate with the Borgata Championship Event, January 25 - 29. On the heels of Borgata's highly successful Poker Open in September, which offered the largest guaranteed prize pool ever by a casino-hotel, Borgata will once again up the ante by offering players a guaranteed prize pool of $2 million in this year's Winter Open Championship event ($3,000 Buy-In + $200 Entry).

"This year's Winter Poker Open will offer a broad range of events to appeal to our customers, and for the first time in a seasonal event, Borgata will offer players a guaranteed prize pool of $2 million in the Championship Event," said Ray Stefanelli, Director of Poker Marketing for Borgata. The five-day Championship Event ($3,000 Buy-In + $200 Entry) features two starting days and 50,000 in chips. This year, Borgata will offer 46 distinctive events ranging from Deep Stack tournaments, Omaha High and Pot Limit tournaments to Ladies Limit, H.O.S.E. and Senior Events.
