Foundation Radiology Group Named One of 50 Largest Radiology Groups in the Country

Posted on: Thursday, 4 December 2008, 10:20 CST

PITTSBURGH, Dec. 4 /PRNewswire/ -- Pittsburgh-based Foundation Radiology Group (FRG) was named by the Radiology Business Journal to be one of the 50 largest radiology groups in the country. Located in Gateway Center in downtown Pittsburgh, FRG has been growing at a brisk pace, and was pleased to get recognized by industry leaders and national experts.

In a little over a year of being in operation, FRG was ranked 44th out of 50 nationally, proof that their business model is working. FRG's board certified radiologists are available 24/7/365 to provide readings in muscularskeletal radiology, neuroradiology, mammography, cardiac CT, interventional radiology, pediatric radiology, brain perfusion, vascular ultrasound, OB/GYN ultrasound and general radiology. With this broad range of capabilities, FRG is ideally positioned to provide subspecialty radiological services to smaller hospitals and outpatient centers that can't afford to keep subspecialists on staff.

Timothy J. Pisula, FRG's chief operating officer, said, "We are pleased to have been recognized by the Business Radiology Journal. If this survey were taken today, we would have placed in the top 30, as our practice now has over 30 FTE (full time equivalent) radiologists, exceeds over 600,000 annual procedures sourced from 18 different institutional clients. We are looking forward to continuing our leadership role as the radiology and diagnostic imaging professional industry grows and evolves."
