ATLANTA, Dec. 4 /PRNewswire/ — Sandy Schwartz, president of the newly
created Cox Media Group (CMG), today named Doug Franklin to lead the Cox
Newspapers group, effective January 1, 2009, when CMG brings together Cox
Newspapers, Cox Television and Cox Radio under one organization.

Alex Taylor, publisher of The Daily Sentinel in Grand Junction, Colo.,
will succeed Franklin as publisher of The Palm Beach Post.

“During his short, but pivotal time at The Post, Doug exemplified
extraordinary leadership during a period of transition,” said Schwartz. “Our
company is providing multiple delivery platforms for news, creating
efficiencies and forging industry partnerships. Doug has a proven track record
in each of these areas, and I’m pleased that he will be leading our newspaper
group.”

Prior to joining The Post, Franklin served as president and CEO of Cox
Ohio Publishing and publisher of the Dayton Daily News. In this role, he
oversaw more than 1,200 employees and multiple daily publications in Ohio,
including the Dayton Daily News, Springfield News-Sun, The Middletown Journal
and the JournalNews in Hamilton, as well as four weekly publications.

Among his major accomplishments were relocating the corporate
headquarters, merging Cox Ohio’s newspapers into one operating unit and
expansive growth of niche, online revenue. He also led the successful
completion of a regional production facility, which enabled the group to
operate efficiently as one cluster of newspapers.

Well-known within the Cox organization, he joined the company more than 30
years ago as a door-to-door circulation solicitor for Dayton Newspapers and
also worked at its Springfield News-Sun and Longview (Texas) News Journal.

Alex Taylor: Incoming Publisher of The Post

Taylor became publisher of The Daily Sentinel in 2007 after serving as The
Atlanta Journal-Constitution’s (AJC) vice president and business manager.
Prior to that, he served as an advertising executive at the AJC.

As Vice President and Business Manager, he managed several of the AJC’s
targeted media products, including MundoHispanico, Georgia’s largest
Spanish-language newspaper with more than 117,000 readers each week, and the
Atlanta edition of Skirt! magazine, a monthly women’s magazine. He also
oversaw a suburban edition of the AJC with a circulation of 71,000.
