"While we connected more than 12,000 people to volunteer opportunities last year, there are 12,000 more volunteers still needed at our partner nonprofits, providing a range of vital services to our community," says
Every year there are over 600 nonprofits in the area that need volunteers to complete their work. At the same time there are thousands of people of all ages who want to get involved but don't know how. The Volunteer Center is not only the central place for volunteers to get matched every day - it is also where nonprofits and businesses come for training and support in creating effective volunteer programs.
"We decided to give the money that we would have spent on gifts and postage to a local nonprofit. Organizations like The Volunteer Center are hard pressed for donations when people are struggling to pay their mortgages and utilities," says
