Buchanan Ranks Number One on Central Penn Business Journal's List of Top Lobbying Firms

HARRISBURG, PHILADELPHIA and PITTSBURGH, Pa., Dec. 11 /PRNewswire-USNewswire/ -- Buchanan Ingersoll & Rooney announced today that it ranked No. 1 on Central Penn Business Journal's list of top lobbying firms. The list -- ranked by lobbying revenue -- was published in the November 14, 2008, edition of the Central Penn Business Journal.

According to the article, the $8.6 million that was reported by Buchanan Ingersoll & Rooney was more than the next two firms combined.

Tom Paese, chair of the firm's State Government Relations Section, said that the lobbying team spans the entire state of Pennsylvania and works closely with colleagues in Washington D.C. "We have lobbyists in Harrisburg, Philadelphia and Pittsburgh who advocate for our clients and make sure that their story is told at both the state and federal levels," Paese said. "If recent events are any indication, we'll likely see an increase in government regulation in the coming months so it's going to become even more critical for businesses to have a voice in the governmental process. It's our job to give them that voice," he said.

The list also noted that Buchanan has 26 lobbyists registered in the state of Pennsylvania, 20 of whom are located in the firm's Harrisburg office. Of those, shareholders John M. Quain, Jack M. Stover, Thomas G. Paese, David W. Sweet, Laura Jan Kuller and Robert L. Shuster, as well as government relations professionals K. Scott Baker and Deborah M. Suder were specifically acknowledged in the article.
