Goodman, Strathairn join ‘Godot’ cast
John Goodman and David Strathairn have signed on to co-star in a new Broadway production of Waiting for Godot,
the Roundabout Theatre Company said.
Goodman is an Emmy- and Golden Globe-winning actor best known for his roles in the TV sit-com Roseanne
and in the movies Raising Arizona,
Sea of Love,
King Ralph,
The Flintstones,
The Big Lebowski,
O Brother, Where Art Thou?
and Speed Racer.
Strathairn was nominated for an Oscar for his work in Good Night, And Good Luck.
He has also appeared in the films Sneakers,
L.A. Confidential,
The Firm,
A Midsummer Night’s Dream,
We are Marshall
and The Spiderwick Chronicles.
The two actors are to join previously announced stars Nathan Lane and Bill Irwin in director Anthony Page’s new staging of Samuel Beckett’s play Waiting for Godot.
Preview performances of the limited engagement are to begin April 10 at Studio 54. Opening night is slated for April 30, the theater company said.
