Chicago Magazine is Your Manual for All Things Medical

December 18, 2008
Repost This

CHICAGO, Dec. 18 /PRNewswire/ — Chicago magazine, the largest city
monthly in the country, gives readers a valuable tool worth saving with a
special report on what to do in a medical crisis. The January issue, which
hits newsstands today, spotlights when to get a second opinion, where to find
a specialist, and how to manage medical bills, among other issues.

“Nothing is going to make dealing with a medical crisis easy, but arming
yourself with information can make it manageable,” said Richard Babcock,
Chicago editor. “It’s a topic that eventually will affect most people.”

Find answers to more than two dozen common medical crisis questions about
topics like clinical trials, keeping records, and communicating your medical
situation with family and your workplace.

Also in this month’s issue, the magazine selects its annual Chicagoans of
the Year, people who work to make the city a better place to live, and
presents a feature looking back on the local winners and losers in the
election of Barack Obama as president.

Elsewhere in the January issue of Chicago:

— Need a Life Coach?: Find out what this profession does and how they may
be able to help you.

— Making the law: Meet Tom Dart, the Cook County sheriff who made
national headlines last fall by refusing to carry our mortgage foreclosure
evictions.

Chicago editor Richard Babcock, managing editor Shane Tritsch, and other
members of the magazine staff are available for on-air interviews about
stories in the December issue. Contact Michael Dizon at 312-222-3165 to
schedule an interview.
