Sean Gamble Promoted to Executive Vice President and Chief Financial Officer, Universal Studios

UNIVERSAL CITY, Calif., Jan. 6 /PRNewswire/ -- Sean Gamble has been named Executive Vice President and Chief Financial Officer, Universal Studios, it was announced today by Ron Meyer, President and Chief Operating Officer, Universal Studios. He replaces Christy Shibata who has accepted a position as Executive Vice President, Financial Planning & Analysis, NBC Universal. Gamble was most recently Executive Finance Manager for GE Oil & Gas's Equipment business located in Florence, Italy. Prior to his position in Italy, Gamble was Vice President, Financial Planning & Analysis for Universal Pictures.

In his new role, Gamble is responsible for overseeing the financial and operational performance of Universal's global film operations, reporting to Meyer. He will also report functionally to Lynn Calpeter, Executive Vice President and Chief Financial Officer, NBC Universal.

In making the announcement, Meyer said, "We know Sean well and we are so pleased to welcome him back. His already established relationships along with his international experience are invaluable as we continue to focus on our film operations worldwide."

Gamble joined GE's Corporate Audit Staff in 1999 where he performed various audit-related, process improvement and merger & acquisition assignments across several businesses, including Aviation, Energy and Corporate Headquarters. As an Executive Audit Manager with the Audit Staff, Gamble supported the 2004 merger of NBC and Universal.

Gamble received a mechanical engineering degree from Bucknell University and joined GE in 1996 as part of the Financial Management Program at GE Industrial Systems.
