Society of American Business Editors & Writers Names Distinguished Achievement Award winner for 2009

Shaw has been head of the publisher of 40 business weekly newspapers since 1989. Before that, he was president and chief operating officer of Dow Jones & Co., the publisher of The Wall Street Journal, where he also worked as a reporter and editor.

SABEW is a 501(c)(3) education organization representing more than 3,200 journalists from its base at the Missouri School of Journalism. Formed in 1964 to promote superior coverage of business and economic events and issues, it is the only business journalism association for editors and writers. Its 2009 annual conference will be held April 26-28 at the Westin Tabor Center in Denver.
