Taylor Swift to appear on ‘CSI’

U.S. recording artist Taylor Swift has agreed to guest star in an upcoming episode of CSI: Crime Scene Investigation, CBS announced.

Taylor will play Haley Jones, a teen-aged girl whose family runs a seedy Vegas motel, the network said in a news release. Over the course of a year, Haley goes through a series of changes that have tragic consequences.

Swift, 19, currently has singles climbing both the country and pop radio charts. She also sold more albums in 2008 than any other recording artist, in any genre of music, CBS noted.

The singer was named 2008's Favorite Female Country Artist at the American Music Awards and Top New Female Vocalist by the Academy of Country Music. She also won the 2008 CMT Music awards for Video of the Year and Female Video of the Year. In 2007, she received a Grammy nomination for Best New Artist and won the CMA Horizon Award.

Swift plans to headline a tour this year and has toured in the past with Rascal Flatts, George Strait, Kenny Chesney, Tim McGraw and Faith Hill, and Brad Paisley.
