The Paley Center for Media is recognizing Lowe for his work pioneering
lifestyle entertainment in the food and shelter categories through the
creation of HGTV and Scripps Networks. Lowe is being honored along with WPP’s
Chief Executive Sir

Under Lowe’s stewardship, Scripps Networks Interactive has become the
nation’s leading provider of television programming and Internet content that
focuses on food and shelter. Lowe founded and launched HGTV and oversaw the
acquisition and transformation of the Food Network into an American pop
culture phenomenon. Lowe also presided over the launches of DIY and Fine
Living Networks and the acquisition of Great American Country (GAC). Lowe also
laid the groundwork for and guided the development of the company’s leading
