"What makes this recognition so special is that it's based on the opinions of the people who work here," said SC Johnson Chairman and CEO Fisk Johnson. "We're committed to ensuring a culture of respect, fairness, integrity and trust, and when the people of SC Johnson say we're succeeding -- that is incredibly inspiring and gratifying."
The recognition also supports a key SC Johnson objective -- that when you reach for an SC Johnson product you can feel good about it. "At the same time we're making trusted products, we're also doing what's right for the environment, our communities and the people who work here," said Fisk. "In today's troubling economic times, it's important to us that as a company we're about more than just profits. We believe responsibility and success can and should go hand-in hand."
Among its nine recognitions by FORTUNE magazine, the company has been named one of the Top Ten companies three times. SC Johnson also has received recognition from other organizations. Today the center is a 45,000-square-food facility that provides full-time, part-time and drop-in supervision on all three shifts, as well as education and summer camp programs.

partnered with a local technical college to provide on-site courses to

Since 2001, for example, the company has cut more than 61 million pounds of VOCs from the environmental footprint of its products.
-- Support at work -- SC Johnson has five diversity councils designed to ensure an inclusive, engaging work environment. In addition, the company last year launched support groups for Parents of Teens, Parents of Special Needs Children, Elder Care Givers, Single Parents and Mature Workers. The goal of the groups is to serve as resources for co-workers who are seeking guidance, education, or simply peers who can relate to or benefit from similar experiences.
