Sanjaya releases new CD, book

Former American Idol contender Sanjaya Malakar released his first CD and an autobiography this week, his representatives said.

Both works are called Dancing to the Music in My Head and went on sale Tuesday. They will be available exclusively on Amazon.com for 30 days.

Malakar’s representatives at Grand Communications promise the singer’s extended play CD, which features five original tracks, offers the standout style and talent that quickly made Sanjaya a fixture on numerous entertainment programs and magazines and ignited his huge and devoted fan base that remains just as passionate today as it was when the soft-spoken performer stole the show — and the hearts of viewers from coast-to-coast — on ‘American Idol.’

Malakar competed on the sixth season of the popular U.S. television singing competition series.
