U.S. actress Phylicia Rashad has been named a new spokeswoman for Jenny Craig, the weight-management company announced Thursday.
For me, this was not about going on a diet; this was about a change for life. Thanks to the personalized program and the support of my consultant, Jenny Craig has tailored a program to fit my life without deprivation,
Rashad said in a statement. This whole journey I am taking is about life balance. I want to embrace life. I want to be light on my feet, literally, and I'm excited to be a role model for others who are ready to take the next step.
Following in the footsteps of successful Jenny Craig spokeswomen like Valerie Bertinelli and Queen Latifah, Rashad will appear in Jenny Craig's newest advertising campaign beginning next week.
We are thrilled to have Phylicia join the Jenny Craig family,
added Scott Parker, vice president of marketing for Jenny Craig. Phylicia is extremely motivated and will deliver a very positive message to those looking to start their own journey.
Rashad is best known for playing Clair Huxtable on the classic TV sit-com The Cosby Show.
