Harper of ‘CSI: NY’ promotes education
Actor Hill Harper, who appears on the U.S. TV series
CSI: NY, says creating a foundation is the key to educating children.
The actor, who plays Dr. Sheldon Hawkes on the crime drama, spoke this weekend at Nashville’s Fisk University as part of his involvement with an Empower Me Tour of the United States, The (Nashville) Tennessean reported Sunday.
Faith is foundational, Harper said to those in attendance at Saturday’s event.
Education is foundational. Family, friends and relationships are foundational. It’s important to have a thick, solid foundation to build upon.
The Empower Me Tour promotes academic excellence and personal responsibility in young people.
Harper, 42, recommended to audience members Saturday that they create an overall life plan, then move forward using key values to make good life choices.
The Tennessean said the Fisk Memorial Chapel event marked the fifth U.S. stop on the national tour.
