TDIndustries Named to FORTUNE's '100 Best Companies to Work For' List for 12th Consecutive Year

Posted on: Monday, 26 January 2009, 14:01 CST

DALLAS, Jan. 26 /PRNewswire/ -- For the 12th consecutive year, TDIndustries has been named to FORTUNE magazine's "100 Best Companies to Work For" list with a ranking of number 37. TDIndustries is also a FORTUNE "All Star," a distinction that only 13 companies hold because they have been on the list every year since its inception in 1998.

According to FORTUNE magazine, one of the defining qualities of TDIndustries is its fairness among its employees. Health insurance premiums are indexed to pay. Everyone is a shareholder through an employee stock ownership plan which is why the company calls its employees "Partners," not "employees."

Says TDIndustries' CEO Harold MacDowell, "TDIndustries has grown over the past 63 years because we respect and care for each other. We try to strike a balance between our work and our personal lives. We believe in doing what's right for our customers. In terms of teamwork, fairness and honesty rule. Our servant leadership philosophy inspires us daily. It is truly a reflection on the great people who work here when we receive an honor like this."

About FORTUNE's "100 Best Companies to Work For"

To pick the "100 Best Companies to Work for," FORTUNE works with the Great Place to Work Institute, a global research and consulting firm with offices in 30 countries, to conduct the most extensive employee survey in corporate America. More than 81,000 employees from 353 companies responded to the 57-question survey created by the Institute. Two-thirds of a company's score is based on the survey, which is sent to a minimum of 400 randomly selected employees. The remaining third is based on a company's responses to the Culture Audit questionnaire, which asks detailed questions about demographics, pay and benefits, and open-ended questions on philosophy, communication and more.
