title sponsor for three race events in northeastern Wisconsin in 2009. The
High Cliff Triathlon in Menasha, Race the Lake bicycle event in Fond du Lac,
and Green Bay Duathlon at Lambeau Field will all bear the Anthem name.

As the title sponsor, Anthem Blue Cross and Blue Shield will be present at
event expositions in each city and will have a strong race day presence.

The partnership with Midwest Sports Events is a continuation of Anthem
Blue Cross and Blue Shield’s work in the community to encourage wellness and
active lifestyles. Anthem Blue Cross and Blue Shield also supports a variety
of community organizations and public health initiatives, such as programs to
promote smoking cessation and encourage health literacy.

“At Anthem Blue Cross and Blue Shield, we’re committed to improving the
lives of the people we serve and the health of our communities,” said Steve
Martenet
, president of Anthem Blue Cross and Blue Shield in Wisconsin. “The
energy and excitement of race day show how fun it can be to exercise, and
we’re thrilled to be able to help bring these events to communities throughout
the Fox Valley.”

All participants in the 2009 events will be assured of well organized,

in road race management for over 20 years and continues to see growth in the
fitness movement.

“Midwest Sports Events and Anthem Blue Cross and Blue Shield share the
same goal to impact communities by educating and promoting active healthy
lifestyles through fitness events,” said Midwest Sports Events executive
director Gloria West. “We’re delighted to partner with Anthem Blue Cross and
Blue Shield and applaud both their proactive leadership style and longtime
commitment to the people of Wisconsin.”

The purpose of the events is to get people of all skill levels to exercise
together. Midwest Sports Events encourages all ages to participate by
including kid-sized runs, triathlons and duathlons alongside most of its adult
events. The company also works to keep registration costs affordable so
everyone can partake and enjoy the benefits of exercise.

Midwest Sports Events races benefit local community organizations. In
2008, over 15 different community organizations received marketing and
financial support from race proceeds.

A triathlon consists of swimming, biking and running. In a duathlon
participants first run, then ride a bike and finish the race running. The
Anthem Blue Cross and Blue Shield Race the Lake in Fond du Lac is a bike race
around Lake Winnebago which may be performed on an individual or team basis.
