3.8M watched Weaver in her TV movie debut

Prayers for Bobby,
a U.S. television movie starring Sigourney Weaver, was watched by 3.8 million people when it premiered, Lifetime announced.
Based on Leroy Aarons’ book of the same name, Prayers
tells the real-life story of Mary Griffith, a profoundly religious wife and mother who questioned her faith after the suicide of her gay son.
Weaver, known for her roles in Aliens,
Gorillas in the Mist,
Working Girl
and Baby Mama,
made her television movie debut with Prayers,
which premiered last Saturday night.
Lifetime said 2.3 million viewers tuned in for a repeat airing Sunday.
The network said the next original movie it will show will be America,
starring Rosie O’Donnell, premiering Feb. 28.
