MDB Launches Digital Production Suite, Alliance With Boston University’s Center for Digital Imaging Arts

January 29, 2009

– Expansion of Digital Production Suite and partnership with CDIA are two latest moves to capitalize on MDB’s growing expertise in online and social media

WASHINGTON, Jan. 29 /PRNewswire-USNewswire/ — MDB Communications, a full-service advertising agency, announced today that it has finalized an agreement with the Center for Digital Imaging Arts at Boston University (CDIA) – Washington, DC campus to form a strategic alliance with the digital arts institution. This complements the announcement that MDB is launching a new online video production suite within the agency.

The agency’s latest investment is in response to year-over-year growth in online media campaigns and strong client demand for social media strategies and applications. A November 2008 study by ComScore found that 77 percent of the US Internet audience had viewed online videos, and ranked Google as the top US video provider.

Three senior executives from MDB are committed to the CDIA partnership. Gary Duke, EVP has been appointed to the Advisory Board at CDIA; Executive Creative Director, Richard Coad will address the CDIA commencement class of May 2009 and CEO, Cary Hatch will be a featured lecturer. In addition, CDIA will place students at MDB in internship programs designed to provide them with “real world” experience in an advertising agency, while honing their digital media skills.

“This is a perfect opportunity to take our proven talent as persuasive storytellers to the web. Brands that tell compelling stories succeed. And in our current economic environment, this is a chance to offer high level creative thinking in a cost-effective environment,” says Coad.

MDB launches its new digital video suite with three new clients including promoting marketing initiatives for several existing agency clients including the DC Lottery, Fannie Mae and Samaritan Inns.

“As other agencies retrench or dip their toes in online media, we are expanding these services and our expertise to support the needs of our clients. Client brands that focus on today’s relevant issues, innovations and markets are evolving quickly – even in the context of the current economic climate – as individuals, businesses and governments make online marketing a top priority to communicate in a timely and effective manner,” said agency President and CEO, Cary Hatch.
