New Edwards memoir is set for release

Elizabeth Edwards, the wife of former North Carolina senator John Edwards, has written a follow-up to her 2005 memoir, Saving Graces.

The Raleigh (N.C.) News & Observer said Resilience: Reflections on the Burdens and Gifts of Facing Life's Adversities is slated to hit bookstores May 12.

This short, powerful, pocket-sized inspirational book makes an ideal gift for anyone dealing with difficulties in their life, Random House said in a news release.

Edwards' first book chronicled her battle with cancer and the loss of her 16-year-old son, Wade, in a car crash.

The News & Observer said it is unclear whether the second volume will discuss one-time presidential hopeful John Edwards' admission that he had an affair with a campaign videographer. Elizabeth Edwards has not commented publicly on the scandal since it was uncovered last summer.
