NEW YORK, Feb. 9 /PRNewswire/ — TBWA\Chiat\Day announced today that Jamie Gallo has been named President of TBWA\Chiat\Day New York. Gallo (42) will work together with Mark Figliulo, Chairman and Chief Creative Officer, to oversee the office, whose clients include ABSOLUT, Cablevision, Dial, hotels.com, Jameson Irish Whiskey, Michelin, NIVEA, Schering-Plough, Skittles, Snickers and Starburst. Gallo was previously Managing Director, TBWA\Chiat\Day New York.

“Clients demand that their agency leaders have an understanding of every aspect of their business, and Jamie does. He knows how to navigate brand ideas through every touchpoint, from digital to retail, to internal employee and franchisee relations. Jamie is a true reflection of what a leader in the industry has to be today,” said Tom Carroll, President and CEO TBWA\Worldwide. “He is the right person at the right time for New York and I am confident that he and Mark have the right kind of insight, creative passion and leadership that will define the future of the Agency.”

Gallo’s responsibilities as managing director included day-to-day client oversight and new business. He also led a team that re-established ABSOLUT Vodka’s presence as a Top-10 brand, replacing arguably the world’s most famous print campaign for the last 29 years and in the process, successfully introducing the brand to a whole new generation.

Jamie was a key driver in the development of the Agency’s retail operation. Under his leadership, the Agency Nextel team transformed TBWA\Chiat\Day’s creative prowess into a retail creative machine. His combined and extensive retail and brand consultancy background gives Jamie a unique perspective on the role of brand and branding in retail communications.

Prior to joining TBWA’s Brand Architecture International Jamie served as Global Account Director on BMW Motorcycles and Fila at Merkley/Newman/Harty. He left Merkley to become partner and co-founder of the Blum Network — a creative syndicate working on accounts including ABC News & Sports, RC & Diet Rite Cola, and RJR. Gallo’s account experience also includes Evian and Dunkin’ Donuts for MVBMS.

“I can think of no better partner for me to help transform the New York office and help build the new Media Arts agency model in New York,” said Figliulo.
