Carol Burnett to appear on ‘SVU’
U.S. comic icon Carol Burnett has agreed to guest-star on
Law & Order: Special Victims Unit, executive producer Neal Baer announced.
Burnett, 75, will appear as a former dancer caught up in the murder of a young couple in the episode of the drama set to air March 17, Baer said Wednesday.
Having Carol Burnett on ‘SVU’ is a dream come true. When you grow up wanting to be a writer, you can count on one hand the actors you’d give anything to work with. Carol Burnett is my thumb, Baer said in a statement.
Every time I mention to someone that I’m about to work on ‘Law & Order: SVU,’ they immediately say, ‘Oh, that’s my favorite show!’ I’m so glad that they all share my opinion, Burnett added.
The comedienne has won six Emmy Awards and five Golden Globes. She will next co-star with Michael Keaton in this summer’s upcoming feature film,
The Post Grad Survival Guide. Recently, Burnett lent her voice to the character of Kangaroo in the animated blockbuster,
Dr. Seuss’ Horton Hears a Who, with Jim Carrey and Steve Carell. She is currently working on her second book, NBC said.
