New Dance Music Producer Tops Independent Music Charts Seven (7) Times in Early 2009

Posted on: Friday, 13 February 2009, 11:55 CST

SYDNEY, Feb. 13 /PRNewswire/ -- Steve Freedom recently posted ten original Advanced Electronic Dance and Ambient compositions to Soundclick.com (Soundclick Inc). Within six weeks of releasing his first track Freedom topped the Soundclick charts with seven new electrifying crossover songs, each of which smashed into the number one (#1) slot in its particular genre.

By 12 February 2009 Steve Freedom was the only artist on Soundclick.com simultaneously positioned at number one (#1) in six separate genres: Electronica, Trance, Dance, House, Drum and Base, and Ambient. He is currently placed on Soundclick.com's Top 25 Charts at number eleven (#11) -- a noteworthy achievement given that Hip-Hop listeners account for the majority of Soundclick.com's traffic.

Soundclick.com, an on-line, social music download service since 1997, has the highest traffic rank compared to its competitors (source: Alexa.com, an Amazon company). With 3.4 million members and 70+ million monthly pageviews, song charts are compiled daily by aggregating individual listens by registered users and visitors.

For the past two years Freedom has been exploring a synthesis of Progressive Trance, Psy-trance, Dance and Electro-House music, creating and producing some of the newest sounding number one (#1) hit cross-over dance music of 2009.

Collaboration with vocalists Ghislaine Saucedo and Trent Chapman of Byron Bay, Australia, resulted in three bouncy Vocal-Trance tracks and one Vocal Ambient track, all of which have made it to the Soundclick.com top spot. The hit songs were produced by the artists at a Bali-style studio retreat in Northern Rivers, Australia in late 2008.

"I am amazed at the overwhelming volume of song plays. We placed our tracks on the web to gauge people's reactions to our new cross-over electronic dance music before finalising an album, but never expected such a massive response. A couple of well known DJ's have already downloaded our MP3's and compiled them into their own mixes. So many people are adding me to their MySpace and Facebook pages. The past few weeks are a huge inspiration to create more of this entertaining and soulful form of dance music," Steve Freedom said.

Steve Freedom is finalising a new double dance album with additional remixes for radio stations, DJ's and MP3 player listeners. Due for March 2009 release, the album will include at least five more tracks currently in production. The full album, individual tracks and remixes will become available from popular websites like iTunes, Rhapsody, Amazon, ez-Music, Soundclick, Napster and Reverbnation.
