Duffy wins 3 Brit Awards

Pop singer Duffy walked away with three Brit Awards, including one for British female solo artist, at a ceremony in London Wednesday night.

She also picked up the prize for British breakthrough, while her CD Rockferry earned the trophy for Mastercard British album.

U.S. recording artist Katy Perry won the award for international female solo artist and American rapper Kanye West earned the prize in the international male solo artist category. The U.S. band Kings of Leon took home the gongs for international group and international album for their CD Only by the Night.

Paul Weller picked up the awards for British male solo artist, Iron Maiden won the award for British live act and Elbow bagged the Brit for British group.

Girls Aloud earned the award for British single for their song The Promise and The Pet Shop Boys were honored with a career achievement award for their outstanding contribution to music.
