O’Brien says goodbye to ‘Late Night’
U.S. TV host Conan O’Brien says Late Night with Conan O’Brien
fans can expect his trademark comedy to be apparent in his new Tonight Show
gig.
O’Brien, whose Late Night
run ended Friday night, said when he takes over the reins of the Tonight Show
in June, the snarky comedy he is known for will remain apparent to viewers, the New York Daily News reported Saturday.
We are going on to this next gig and sometimes I read that ‘it’s time for Conan to grow up ’cause he is going to 11:30,’ and I assure you that’s not going to happen. I can’t,
said O’Brien, who will be replacing Tonight Show
host Jay Leno. This is who I am, for better or worse.
The Daily News said during his 16-year Late Night
career, O’Brien hosted 2,725 shows at the series’ 30 Rockefeller Plaza studio in New York.
