Stein Eriksen Lodge Designates April 6-12 as ‘Giving Room Week’

Percentage of Room Revenue to Help Lodge Achieve $100,000 Donation Goal for Huntsman Cancer Institute

PARK CITY, Utah, Feb. 25 /PRNewswire/ — Stein Eriksen Lodge, Utah’s only Mobil Five-Star, AAA Five Diamond property, is designating Easter week – from April 6-12, 2009 – as “Giving Room Week.” During this special week, five percent of all room revenue collected will be contributed to the Huntsman Cancer Institute’s “Room to Heal” campaign as a portion of the Lodge’s short-range goal to raise $50,000 of the total $100,000 commitment.

The Huntsman Cancer Hospital expansion will double the inpatient capacity from 50 beds to 100 and will double existing imaging and radiation treatment facilities and operating rooms. It will house the new Blood and Bone Marrow Transplant and Myeloma Program and expanded Cancer Learning and Wellness Centers. It will also accommodate expanded clinical trials and enhance patient access to promising new treatments.

Established in 1995, Huntsman Cancer Institute (HCI) serves the needs of cancer patients and their families with research, education, and treatment. HCI is a nationally recognized cancer research center that also offers patient care for all types of cancer, as well as education and outreach for ways to prevent and treat cancer. HCI was founded on the principle of translational research, which means that basic scientists, clinical researchers, and cancer patients are brought together in an environment that allows for rapid translation of laboratory discoveries into effective new treatments in an atmosphere of hope and compassion.

By the Lodge committing to a $100,000 contribution, the Huntsman Cancer Hospital will reserve two patient rooms in the new expansion as Stein Eriksen Lodge rooms. The Lodge plans to incorporate decorative elements in both rooms to reflect the Lodge’s alpine history.
