NEW TICKETS ON SALE MONDAY MARCH 9 – 10AM

WASHINGTON, March 5 /PRNewswire/ — On Saturday, February 28, many Elton John & Billy Joel fans experienced challenges in purchasing tickets to the historic inaugural concert due to technical issues with the online ticketing system. The system has since been corrected, and we are proud to announce that in recognition of the difficulties many fans experienced, additional seats will be released for purchase this Monday, March 9th at 10:00 AM, exclusively through Tickets.com and charge by phone by calling 1-888-632-6287.

“During the initial on-sale, our online ticketing system experienced an issue that limited fans’ ability to access tickets for a period of time,” said Larry Witherspoon, CEO of Tickets.com. “We have resolved the issue and we apologize for any resulting inconvenience. We look forward to providing fans with a consistent, positive ticket-buying experience during the on-sale scheduled for Monday, March 9.”

Ticket prices will include seating options at $182, $102, and $56.50 plus applicable service charges.

The “Rocket Man” Elton John and the “Piano Man” Billy Joel, two of the most popular performers ever to grace the stage in Washington, D.C. and the most successful and longest-running concert pairing in pop history, will return to the District of Columbia when the piano-playing dynamic duo perform live in the first-ever musical concert at Nationals Park, home of the Washington Nationals, on Saturday, July 11 at 7:30pm.

Reviews of the first shows of the 2009 tour have been glowing. “Talk about economical,” Newsday’s Glenn Gamboa states in his review of the March 3 tour launch in Jacksonville, Florida. “Billy Joel and Elton John’s Face 2 Face tour…gives fans three great concerts for the price of one.”

“The Nationals are thrilled to host the Face to Face Tour with Elton John and Billy Joel for the first ever concert at Nationals Park,” said Nationals President Stan Kasten. “Elton and Billy are beloved throughout Washington, D.C., and have a rich history performing in our city. Undoubtedly, this will be a remarkable inaugural evening of music out under the stars, showcasing the ballpark’s capabilities as a premiere summer concert venue.”
