Robin Williams set for heart operation

Robin Williams' publicist says the U.S. actor and comedian is set to undergo an aortic valve replacement.

The 57-year-old performer's representative confirmed the news to CNN. The report did not say when the star is to have the operation on his heart.

Williams, who won an Oscar for his work in the movie in Good Will Hunting, earlier this week postponed several Florida dates for his one-man Weapons of Self-Destruction comedy tour after he suffered shortness of breath.

Usmagazine.com said Williams is expected to resume his tour this fall.

I'm so touched by everyone's support and well wishes, the entertainment Web site quoted Williams as saying. This tour has been amazing fun and I can't wait to get back out on the road after a little tune-up.
