'Tiki-Tiki Rimbo': An Autobiography

Posted on: Friday, 6 March 2009, 06:55 CST

JACKSON, Mich., March 6 /PRNewswire/ -- Out-of-body experiences, prophetic, repetitive dreams, a heavenly visitor and a guardian angel that never leaves his side threads the story, "Tiki-Tiki Rimbo" (published by AuthorHouse), of World War II veteran Robert E. Damm. Eighty-three-year-old Damm is one of the few remaining veterans, whose memories of war horrors are still vivid, yet his daily, fervent prayers, unshakeable belief, and supernatural encounters helped the author through years of many difficult situations.

As a young man, Robert Damm discovered that the rhythmic, ticking sounds of the clock on his mother's mantle somehow lured him out of his body where he would float above the room, providing him the phenomenon of looking down at himself. Instead of being frightened or disturbed by the unexplainable, he found the experience pleasant and a source of comfort. However, the dream that he dreamt often as a young man was alarming, but one he believed came from God in order to prepare him for the gruesome reality he would have to face later in life as a soldier.

"Tiki-Tiki Rimbo" takes the reader to a painful time in America's past through the eyes and words of one man whose faith refused to let him give up during his search for the love of his life, wartime battles and adjusting back to civilian life. In his autobiography, Damm generously shares letters he wrote from the battlefield, bringing history and his story to life (Photos included).

About the Author: Robert Damm, a World War II veteran, returned from the war with invisible scars and wounds as real as those caused by the enemies' bullets and shrapnel. He received two bronze arrowheads and a bronze star. Now in his 83rd year, he decided to share his fascinating story.
