‘Pulling’ pilot headed to ABC
ABC has finalized negotiations to bring another British TV series to U.S. audiences with the comedy Pulling,
an industry source says.
The Hollywood Reporter said Friday that Pulling
is based on a 2006 series from Britain that followed the lives of three women in their 30s who become roommates after one of them ends her engagement.
Pulling
marks the most recent British series to be adapted for U.S. audiences, following the likes of ABC’s Life on Mars
and NBC’s The Office.
The Reporter said the U.S. pilot of Pulling
will be written by Courting Alex
writer Rob Hanning, while Elliot Hegarty will direct the comedy.
Sharon Horgan and Dennis Kelly, who created the original BBC Three comedy together, have been named executive producers on the U.S. production along with Stacy Traub and Francie Calfo.
