CRO Magazine Names Xilinx to Top 100 Best Corporate Citizens List for 2009

SAN JOSE, Calif., March 9 /PRNewswire/ -- Xilinx, Inc. (Nasdaq: XLNX) today announced that it has again been named to the Corporate Responsibility Officer (CRO) Magazine's 100 Best Corporate Citizens List, earning a spot on the prestigious list of companies for the third straight year. Xilinx maintained its position at 70th overall in the 2009 edition of the list, unveiled at The Penn Club in New York City on Friday, March 6, 2009.

CRO's 100 Best Corporate Citizens List is the only such list based on 100 percent publicly-available information and ranks Russell 1000 companies on their performance in seven key areas: Environment, Climate Change, Human Rights, Philanthropy, Employee Relations, Financial and Governance. It is compiled for CRO Magazine by Portland, Maine-based IW Financial, a leading provider of SRI rankings to institutional investors. Over the past 9 years, companies on the 100 Best Corporate Citizens List have out-paced the remainder of Russell 1000 companies by an average of 26 percent in 3-year total return.

Xilinx scored highly in the governance category (where it shared a ranking of Number 1 with several companies) and human rights. It scored well in the environment and employee relations categories as well, underscoring its commitment to best practices in these areas. In addition, the company is well known for fostering a spirit of community, corporate giving and volunteerism within its employee base. It recently commemorated its 25th Anniversary by making a $250,000 charitable contribution to organizations dedicated to feeding the hungry. Xilinx was also named the Most Respected Public Semiconductor Company by the Global Semiconductor Association (GSA) for 2008.
