Police quell melee at Iron Maiden concert

More than 100 people were arrested in Bogota, Colombia, after fans of the U.K. heavy metal group Iron Maiden tried to get into a concert without tickets.

The BBC said ticketless fans threw rocks, injuring one police officer's face, and damaging traffic lights and signs, as they tried to storm Saturday's concert in Simon Bolivar Park. Riot police then fired tear gas canisters at the crowd before the band took the stage.

Local authorities told the British broadcaster they would discuss whether Bogota should schedule heavy metal concerts in the future.

The police said the disturbance involved embarrassing acts perpetrated by a group of malcontents who wanted to enter without tickets.
