Mullen Appoints New Senior Vice President of Public Relations & Social Marketing

Ruth E. Winig to Lead PR Practice in Agency’s Winston-Salem, N.C., Office

WINSTON-SALEM, N.C., March 10 /PRNewswire/ — Ruth E. Winig has been promoted to lead the public relations practice at Mullen’s Winston-Salem, N.C. office as the senior vice president of public relations and social marketing. She formerly served as senior vice president director of innovation. In her new position, Winig will set the strategic agenda for all public relations, experiential, social media and brand connectivity programs by Mullen and its marketing-to-women arm, Frank About Women.

Winig is a seasoned marketer with more than 12 years of experience developing strategic communications programs for major brands, including Procter & Gamble, John Paul Mitchell Systems, Bath & Body Works, Tehema – a Clint Eastwood Apparel Collection, Just My Size, Miller Brewing Company and Max Factor. Prior to Mullen, she served as the marketing director at Reflect-True Custom Beauty, a Procter & Gamble brand, director of experiential marketing at Kose, the second largest Asian personal care company, vice president of a S.A.G.-franchised entertainment company leading 35 affiliate offices nationwide and served in account service at Lippe Taylor Public Relations.

Joining Mullen nearly four years ago, Winig has held several key positions throughout the agency and led many of its most successful PR campaigns. Throughout her tenure at Mullen, she has overseen client services for Abbott Pharmaceutical Labs, Sara Lee’s Endust, BISSELL Home Care Inc., Kimberly Clark and Lennox, as well as provided creative ideation and thought leadership for all Mullen PR clients across categories including travel and hospitality, technology and communications, financial services and fashion/retail. Most recently, Winig leveraged her past experience as a junior Hollywood publicist to lead the charge in managing and launching Kelly Ripa’s line of athletic wear for ryka.
