Along with the additions to the menu, Martin’s Tavern will be celebrating in style with customized St. Patrick’s Day t-shirts emblazoned with the likeness of Billy and company. The “Drink Until Your Irish” t-shirts will be available for purchase.

The Tavern will be open for normal business hours. Full details, menus and hours can be found online at www.martins-tavern.com.

Established in 1933, Martin’s Tavern opened its doors on February 18, 1934 to folks all looking for the same thing: good drinks, great food and excellent service. 75 years later, having served every president from Truman to George W. Bush, Hollywood stars, Broadway legends, and just plain “G.I. Joes,” one of the most celebrated taverns in Washington is still going strong.

“It’s a huge milestone,” said fourth-generation manager and owner, William A. Martin, Jr.–better known to regulars as just “Billy”–who took over the family restaurant in 2001, after working behind the bar for nearly 20 years. “We’ve been celebrating St. Patrick’s Day in the Tavern since I can remember and every year proves to be memorable!”

Martin’s Tavern is located in the heart of Old Georgetown at the corners of Wisconsin and N Streets.
