Maine Cycling Tour Company Offers ‘Stomp the Recession’ Discounts

March 13, 2009

BAR HARBOR, Maine, March 13 /PRNewswire/ — Maine Coast Bicycle Tours, offering what the company calls an ideal mix of luxury and activity, is offering a “Stomp the Recession” discount of $200 per person off its popular “All Acadia” tour.

The six-day tour features a variety of bicycling routes in Acadia National Park, located near Bar Harbor, ME, along with deluxe inns and gourmet restaurants.

“This tour is for those who enjoy being active but also like to be pampered with the finest food, lodging and other amenities,” a Maine Coast Bicycle Tours spokesman said, indicating cyclists will spend five nights in the most luxurious inns in Bar Harbor and will dine at several of the resort area’s most renowned restaurants.

Participants will bike 20 to 30 miles a day (or farther, if they wish) at a comfortable pace, pedaling on the unique carriage roads of Acadia as well as the park’s Ocean Drive and Schoodic Peninsula areas. They’ll venture by ferry one day to rustic Swans Island, where they’ll bike that island’s quiet roads and experience the atmosphere of a genuine Maine lobster fishing village.

Other activities, including an afternoon of sea kayaking, are included at no additional cost.

“The combination of ocean surf crashing on granite cliffs, peaceful glacial-carved lakes and all the other wonders of Acadia National Park make for the most scenic biking routes anywhere,” a Maine Coast Bicycle Tours representative said.

Normal all-inclusive price for the tour is $1,695 per person, with the $200 discount offered for everyone who books by April 15.
