FORT LAUDERDALE, Fla., March 13 /PRNewswire/ — Mavericks in Education Florida, LLC (Mavericks), has announced a decision today to remove all references going forward to the name D.Wade, Dwyane Wade, D.Wade’s Schools, along with Mr. Wade’s likeness and image in all matters relating to Mavericks in Education Florida, LLC and Mavericks High Schools.

These new Mavericks public charter schools are designed to achieve the exact goals that President Obama has targeted for national educational reform. They are under development across the entire state of Florida and are dedicated to serving at-risk and high school dropout students seeking an innovative approach to earning a high school diploma, job preparation skills and a plan for continuing education. These highly innovative schools will open and operate now under the name Mavericks High, including a reference to the local county.

The decision by Mavericks in Education Florida, LLC to dissociate from Mr. Wade in his capacity as a spokesman and role model, based upon a license agreement in place since inception, has been taken in the best interest of maintaining Mavericks’ integrity and public image as a company dedicated to educating children and supporting strong family values.
